The hostel was called "the Clubhouse" because that's exactly what it was! Located in the famous KALKSCHEUNE building, the nightlife began before you ever leave the house. Today it's mainly events for companies etc..

In the ground floor and the cellar you could find a full range of entertainment from techno-partys and live concerts to theatre and cabaret. The streets around the hostel formed the pounding heart of Berlin´s nightlife and culture. Just around the corner on Oranienburger Strasse a large variety of restaurants, bars & cafés offered local specialities as well as exotic foods & drinks. Another absolute must see was the TACHELES: squat-arthouse? trash-art-open-air-gallery? The Tacheles is gone, but the nightlife us slowly coming back..

You could go there and find out for yourself! Concerts, disco, exhibitions, strange installations, the Cafe Zapata in the groundfloor, the sometimes- cinema, sometimes-theatre make it worth a visit at day and night.
